COMMUNITY

We believe circles are better than rows when it comes to doing life together with your church family! Great things happen when God’s people gather and we gather a lot! CityScape Church has a dozen small groups and we are adding more constantly!

• Please reach out to our CityGroups Coordinators and join a group today! Groups meet each week, study God’s Word and do life together. We are better together!

• CityScape Students meets every Sunday at 5 P.M. for Hang time and Passionate worship and discipleship!

• CityKids meets during worship every Sunday morning and learns all kinds of stories from the bible and how to apply them to their daily lives!

• Women’s and Men’s ministry gather often for meals, to learn from one another, have bible study and to just do life together.

WORSHIP

We are a WORSHIP CHURCH! We exist to passionately, boldly and authentically exalt the Name of Jesus Christ. Our vision is to write and sign original worship that springs from what God is doing in and through our community. “We are most satisfied in Him when He is most glorified in us.” -John Piper

A time is coming and has now come when true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth. These are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. John 4:23

If Christ is lifted up He will draw men unto Himself. We are creating worship teams, worship choirs, developing worship leaders and songwriters as we strive to bring God our very best in Creativity and Expression.

“The Chief end of man is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.” - Westminster Catechism. We love to worship and constantly incorporate worship music from Elevation, Passion, Hillsong, etc.

MULTIPLICATION

Evangelism and Discipleship

John Wesley introduced Societies, Classes and Bands as a biblical method of making disciples. Jesus first modeled this concept. When Jesus preached to thousands on the hillside and fed 5000 people this was an example of a “Society.” A large gathering of God’s people to worship Christ! We model the Society with our Sunday large group worship gatherings! 2 Timothy 2: 2 The things you have heard of me among many witnesses the same commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

CityGroups meet all over our city during the week and discuss Sunday’s sermon and go through other books of the bible as well as other discipleship materials. CityGroups are groups of about a dozen and they represent Christ with the disciples. Circles are better than rows and gathering in one another’s homes is a great way to connect on a deeper level as you grow closer to Christ. CityGroups represents Wesley’s “Classes.”

Finally, we encourage “Bands” as a deeper way to walk intimately with Jesus in holiness. Jesus walked closely with Peter, James and John. As we walk closely with 3 or 4 other folks of our same gender and passion for spiritual growth we will find the accountability and growth.

“I will save you that you may become a blessing.” CityScape Church is devoted to sharing the love of Jesus Christ through serving those in need. We have been called by God to take care of the orphans and widows of this world! This is not optional for the committed follower of Jesus.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Bible is the foundation of everything we believe at CityScape Church

the scriptures

2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that you may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” We believe the entire Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error.

our god

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to humanity and to become the Savior of the lost world.

humanity

We believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts.

Salvation

We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.

Christian life

We believe all Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.

The church

We believe that the church is the body of Christ, over which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving him and by making him known to the lost world. The Church is the way Christ expresses Himself to the world.
